Ouaga African

Ouaga (pronounced "Waga") fuse beautiful, driving West African rhythms with soaring vocal harmonies, flute, saxaphone and didgeridoo.

Directed by Simon Fraser and supported by their choreographed dance posse, Ouaga are renowned around Australia for their infectiously groovy dance music and high energy stage shows. A versatile and experienced ensemble that includes both local and African born musicians, they also specialise in melodic ambient African music which is popular at weddings and as background music for corporate events such as the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Australian Film Industry Members Night, South African Airlines, AFL Grand Fiinal Lunch, Lion King Theatre Opening and supporting featured artists from Ghana and Guinea to name a few.

Their flexibility is second to none, being able to adapt perfectly for high energy stage shows or roving at festivals, community events or corporate functions and weddings. Ouaga’s full ensemble is a 9 piece but perform regularly with 3 or more of its team.
